For sure. So now we know the stakes. The villains. The heroes. Who prevails next week? Sadly, the theme of the show seems to be that evil, if not prevailing, it's certainly pervading. The good guys don't always win. Should be quite a finale.

I think Maggie asking Marty, "are you here to say goodbye?" is pretty telling that Marty won't live next week. As Len pointed out in another thread, here's Marty's chance to do the right thing. Even if he knows he may get killed in the process. And most viewers can see that Rust is on a suicide mission to get these guys.

I checked ep 3 and it's the same guy. Who was the same guy in episode 3?

The lawn mower guy at the end of ep7 was the same guy that Rust talked to in ep3 outside of one of the former Tuttle schools. Marty was honking the car horn and pulled him away from the conversation.

yes, but pulled him away for a very good reason. I've heard this as if Marty didn't want them to talk but he had all of the important info on LeDoux, 90% of the evidence they needed to connect him to the case. I think that made his 'rush' fully understandable.

Yes, it's just a device the writer uses, pulling the detectives away from the murderer. Their impatience is their downfall.

This week we all must learn to spell the word "denouement".
