One of the most entrancing aspects of this show is the opening, which features a nicely edited version of The Handsome Family's "Far From Any Road". T. Bone Burnett (a fav of Joel & Ethan Cohen as well) gets credit for the musical picks, and the opening is simply captivating, setting an overall familiar, yet creepy, tone to the show. www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4zluA60hjsThe first episode ends with The Black Angel's "Young Men Dead", an absolutely badass closing tune. www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvKjpGP6P5Y&feature=kpSince that first episode, and not counting the re-occurring opening, I've struggled to find much else music-wise that I thought rivaled the impact of the Episode 1 closer. So, one of the questions I propose in this thread: What songs do you personally think would have been cool in the series, and where would they be used? I would have picked this one for the end of Episode 2, after Rust and Marty discover the drawings in the burned down church... and don't watch the video, just listen. www.youtube.com/watch?v=itoMa9uV1xM

As a fan of a lot of music from the 90's, I thought episode 4 featured an awesome soundtrack. The Melvins, Corrosion of Conformity, and Sleep were all a part of the biker bar & escape house. Primus being used in the strip club...Wu-Tang Clan were on top of the Hip-Hop world in '95 and were featured in the episode. Plus, the whole Raver scene took off in the mid-90's and I thought Fukunaga & Pizzolatto nailed that presentation.
I find myself appreciating the music in each episode quite a lot.
