That's good stuff. Comments are fantastic, too. Can't help but think Hart's father-in-law is involved somehow, though. Why introduce the clown otherwise?

"Of course I'm dangerous. I'm police. I can do terrible things to people with impunity." Maybe a little more foreshadowing to that statement that some of us initially realized.

Yes, and here's where it goes -- Marty is the entire key to both "cases." He either 1) agrees to screw over his former partner and just go along with the police, who are clearly trying to frame Cohle or 2) he can team up with Cohle and FINALLY, for once in his life, do the right thing. We are led to believe he is going to do #2, which makes me think there are a few more twists coming.

Ive come across some interesting information that Id like to share. It's a theory about the gas plants based on real life facts but set in the fictional universe of True Detective. I learned that in Erath there is a place called Henry Hub, where basically all of the natural gas in the state comes through. It is also the site that determines natural gas prices on the U.S. stock exchange. I also learned that Lake Charles is going to be the site of new liquification plants that will convert natural gas to a form that travels easily. What does that mean? Louisiana is about to go through a massive economic boom, especially in those two places. The rest of the gas plants that are scattered throughout the south of the state are also going to see increased production, jobs, and revenues.
So what's it all about? A real estate conspiracy to buy land around natural gas sites cheaply in preparation for the spike that's coming. Fear is the tool to get residents to sell their land because of the murders and missing persons. That's my idea.
