Btw, my "new" theory is pretty simple. I don't believe there will be some OMG reveal at series' end. I think it is a conspiracy. I think there was a cover-up and I think the irony will fall on Marty's shoulders. The very institution he works/worked for without raising suspicion DESPITE THE FACT THAT HIS VERY OWN PARTNER DID AT EVERY TURN, will be responsible for (directly or indirectly) crimes committed not only against women and children, but his own daughters. So when he said, "The answer was right under my nose the whole time," he's right--his daughters were molested AND the police dept somehow knew and did nothing. So there.

This was good stuff, but nothing earth shattering. This ep was basically setting the stage for the final act and got all the pieces moving towards where they needed to be.
Still, some great lines. “Actually, why don't you buy me a beer?”

I thought the focus Rust's broken tail light at the end of the episode was interesting. Commentary on how Rust hasn't fixed/solved anything in the years between Rust and Cohle's parking lot brawl, when the tail light was broken? A foreshadow to another "disagreement" coming in the final episodes?

The point wasn't for that to be a glamorous sex scene, just the opposite actually. Maggie never said it was necessarily good, just that she hadn't had that particular kind of experience before her daughters were born.

Random ep. 6 thoughts.....
Who doesn't drop off the groceries before going to the bar especially with tampons and when passing the car in the lot? (More importantly, the entire meeting with Beth is random, both in the phone store and then he, followed by her into the F&H)
I never want to say theres an error in a show where everything means something, but the chain on Cohle's door when Maggie comes over is strange. It doesnt appear he chains the down when she come in, but it is chained in the background later...and then when he kicks her out, it isnt once again. But only viewed once, may take a 2nd look.
Show makes you do some strange things and watch some minute shit.
